Do you know a reason to run 100 miles?

There are more than a million...

The Challenge

More than 1 million people in the US today are dealing with the impacts of Parkinson's Disease.  If you know someone that is battling the disease, then you know about the courage and strength it takes to fight it every day.  If you don't know someone, it's a good bet that one of your friends or family does.  PD is a relentless attacker, and it will only be beaten back by an equally imposing force...a commitment to defeat it!

The Idea

My name is Matt Coz and I know a number of people that are battling Parkinson's Disease and have been touched and inspired by the tenacity with which they approach each day. (Please see the "One Story" tab to read about this.) Late in 2009, I decided to get up off the couch and do something about PD.  And so the idea was crafted and the work began to raise a significant amount of money to benefit PD Research and the Parkinson's Disease Foundation (www,PDF.org).  The target...$100,000.

The Execution

Seems to me a goal should stretch us well beyond any comfort level we know.  So to get to the target of $100,000, I will be taking part in the Burning River 100 Mile Endurance Run at the end of July. The 2 goals are clear...100 Miles in 24 hours and $1000 for every mile in the race.  All for the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
